Truck crossing stone causeway across Inner Lake between Belen Yeyes and Cumana, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia
Image taken on 19th July 2015 with more normal winter dry season water levels. Compare with those taken on August 18th 2023 with water levels near records lows. Cumana village (just out of shot to R) and the hills in this image are on an island, separated from the mainland by Cohana Bay (to the left) and a channel about 1km wide. The road on the causeway connects the island and mainland. In wet rainy seasons the causeway may be completely under water, in dry seasons the island is usually still separated from the mainland by a channel of water as in this image.
