Facade of the Desamparados railway station, Lima, Peru
The Desamparados railway station building was built in 1911/12 by the architect Rafael Marquina. It was named after the Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados church and was the start of the Central Andean Railway between Lima and Oroya (tourist trains still run occasionally). The building also houses the Peruvian Literature Museum / Casa de la Literatura Peruana.
