Modern metal door with figure of Naylamp deity and a tumi knife, Juli, Puno Region, Peru
The figure on the door represents Naylamp, a key figure in Sicán mythology said to be the founder of the first dynasty of prehistoric kings in the Lambayeque valley region in northern Peru. The tumi is a sacrifical knife used by ancient civilisations in the same region. Both figures / symbols are often seen in modern iconography throughout Peru.
