Adult Band tailed or Belchers gull (Larus belcheri)
Found on Pacific coast of South America from Ecuador southwards to central Chile. It is named after the British explorer Sir Edward Belcher. This bird seems to be halfway between breeding (white head) and non breeding (dark head) plumage. Local names: gaviota cangrejera, gaviota peruana, gaviota de cola negra.
