Kapac Qolla dancers with bead embroidered square hats (called an aqarapi) during Qoyllur Riti festival, Peru
Kapac Qolla dancers traditionally represent merchants who used to come from the altiplano / Lake Titicaca region (Collasuyu was the Inca name for the southern quarter of their empire Tawantinsuyu). Llamas were traditionally used to transport goods, and often replaced by mules after the Spanish conquest.
