Musicians playing Bajon Grande during main procession, San Ignacio de Moxos, Bolivia
The bajon is a panpipe like instrument unique to the area. They are made from the rolled up leaves of the cusi palm tree. There are 3 sizes, the ones in this image are the largest, the longest pipe is about 1.5m / 5ft long. The musicians take it in turns to play and carry the instrument during processions.
