Monument to Sergio Yánez Ayala and Guillermo Martínez Araya near Calama, Region II, Chile
Sergio Yánez Ayala and Guillermo Martínez Araya were employees of Chile's state bank the Banco del Estado. They were in the bank on the night of 9th March 1981 when it was robbed by agents of the CNI (National Information Centre). After the robbery they were taken to the desert and executed by being buried with dynamite that was subsequently detonated.
