La Paz (its full name is Nuestra Señora de La Paz) is Bolivia's 3rd largest city and its political and administrative capital (the official capital and seat of the judiciary is Sucre); it is also the capital of La Paz Department. The city centre is at an altitude of around 3650 m / 11,975ft, making it the world's highest administrative capital. The gallery also contains images of El Alto, La Paz's satellite city that is now larger than La Paz itself.
